FUEL UP – Booster Juice Partners with Canadian PGA TOUR Winner Mackenzie Hughes

Booster Juice and Mackenzie Hughes tee it up as a strategic duo to highlight the company’s commitment to providing Canadian consumers with premium products and experiences

Edmonton, AB (March 28, 2017) – Canada’s premium juice and smoothie bar, Booster Juice, announced today that Canadian talent, PGA TOUR rookie and recent winner Mackenzie Hughes will represent the company as a global ambassador. Hughes will work with Booster Juice on educating and energizing Canadians on the importance of living a healthy, nutritious, and active balanced lifestyle.

“It is exciting for us to be partnering with Mackenzie, who is one of the top young Canadian golfers on TOUR, and truly aligns with who we are as a brand with his healthy eating, commitment to wellness and positive attitude,” said Dale Wishewan, President and CEO of Booster Juice.

Hughes understands the importance of fueling his body properly to enable peak performance and longevity. In order to compete at the elite level of the PGA TOUR, Hughes must have mental stamina, physical strength, energy, and overall wellness in order to see success on a performance level and be able to keep up with the constant travel to each tournament every week. When he’s not competing, Hughes is just your average guy, working out, cooking healthy meals with his wife Jenna, and watching his favourite sports teams. In any case, staying fuelled is key to keeping focused and staying fit on and off the course.

“I am thrilled to be partnering with a strong Canadian brand like Booster Juice. They are fun, energetic and all about educating Canadians on making healthy choices. Whenever I am home visiting family and friends, I am always hitting up one of the handful of Booster Juice locations in Dundas and Hamilton,” said Hughes. “Their smoothies are perfect for any point in the day whether I’m golfing, traveling, or just relaxing.”

Hughes became a breakout star on the PGA TOUR in 2016 shortly after beginning his rookie season, winning the RSM Classic in November after a five man playoff. With this win, Hughes gained exempt status on the PGA TOUR through the 2018-19 season as well as the opportunity to play in golf’s most prestigious tournaments including the 2017 Masters. Since then, Hughes has hit his stride on TOUR, recording four top 25 finishes and currently sitting at 12th place in the FedEx Cup rankings.

Born and raised in Dundas, Ontario, Hughes epitomizes what it means to work tirelessly, be patient, and never give up. He won the Canadian Amateur Championship in 2011 and 2012, before turning professional and competing on the Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada in 2013. After winning the Order of Merit on the Mackenzie Tour that year, Hughes earned his Web.com Tour card for the 2014 season, fully exempt as the money leader. After winning on the Web.com Tour in August 2016 and finishing 17th on the Money List, Hughes gained his PGA TOUR card for the 2016-2017 season.

The partnership will provide a platform for Booster Juice to further promote its healthy and active lifestyle pillars to Canadian consumers. In addition to sharing similar roots and values, Hughes is a harmonious fit to join the Booster Juice team as he embodies the vision that the company was founded upon. The new relationship will see the Booster Juice logo placed on Hughes’ right sleeve of his golf apparel through 2019, as well as strategic promotional campaigns, dedicated social and digital content, and appearances / joint initiatives.

Booster Juice has enjoyed great success since its inception, providing premium quality juices and smoothies across Canada.
