Hailing from Dundas, Ontario, Mackenzie Hughes has quickly ascended through the ranks as one of the top professional golfers to come out of Canada in recent years. After a standout college and amateur career that includes three college wins while at Kent State University and two Canadian Amateur Championship victories, Mackenzie turned professional in 2013 and continued those winning ways. In his first year as a professional, Mackenzie quickly proved his game was ready for the professional ranks by winning the 2013 Cape Breton Celtic Classic on top of the 2013 PGA TOUR Canada Order of Merit, thus moving on to the Web.com Tour and one step closer to the PGA TOUR. Two short years later, Mackenzie made that final step when he won the Web.com Tour’s 2016 Price Cutter Charity Championship with a dramatic birdie. In his PGA TOUR debut, Mackenzie finished T13 in an elite field at the Safeway Open – playing alongside Phil Mickelson. Now residing in Charlotte, North Carolina with his new wife, Jenna, Mackenzie proved he was ready to compete with the world’s best when he won in just his 5th PGA TOUR event in his rookie season by winning the 2016 RSM Classic, earning him a ticket to the Masters and a two year exemption on the PGA TOUR.
