It’s been a couple weeks since my last blog, but I’ll try to get you up to speed on what’s been happening on tour.

First of all, I’d like to congratulate my friend Roger Sloan on his first win on the Tour at the Nova Scotia Open. I couldn’t imagine a better feeling than to win in your home country. I shared a room with Roger in Halifax, so I’d like to think I had something to do with his win!

We were in Evansville, Indiana, the week before Halifax. The travel was going to be a nightmare, but then my flight plans were changed for the better. One of the partners at my agency, SportBox, flew to Indiana on the Sunday of the final round. So he was able to take a few guys from SportBox on his private plane to Halifax. It was a really cool experience, but something you can’t do very often. Graham Delaet was also on the plane because of the RBC Canada Cup in Halifax. It was fun to hang out with him and the other guys.

My game is feeling good, and despite the results not being what I want, I know it will turn around soon. I have a new caddy on the bag, and I’m excited about the way we get along. We think alike and have great dialogue on the course.

This week in Utah, I had a very cool experience with one of my idols. I had the chance to eat dinner with Mike Weir at his house. Before dinner, I was playing ping-pong against Mike. The table was in his trophy room, and right behind me happened to be The Masters trophy.

It gave me goosebumps looking at it, and took me back to that moment in 2003. I’ve had the chance to hang out with Mike a few times, and I almost have to remind myself he’s a Major champion. When you’re with him, he’s just one of the guys. I really admire the fact that all of his fame hasn’t changed who he is. Did I mention he is really good at ping pong?!

I got some great advice from Mike, so hopefully I can put some of that to good use this week. One thing is for sure, he inspired me in 2003, and he’s still inspiring me today.
